The Muga mine Social Baseline Study is an independent study commissioned by the Government of Navarra published on March 4th 2021. The Study looks at the potential social and economic impact of the Muga Project on the local community.
The Government of Navarra, namely the “Observatorio de la Realidad Social”, is a social department responsible for the planning and evaluation of public policies on social services and employment, as well as the analysis of the processes of social transformation and social problems in Navarra. The purpose of this Social Baseline Study is to diagnose the current socio-economic situations of the Muga mine´s Communities of Interest (COI) prior to the construction works commencing, then measure changes that impact positively or negatively and to be able to attribute these to the mine or other external activities.
